Security Guards wages – statistics from the BBC News website

The following statistics have been published on the BBC news website regarding wages for Security Guards and related occupations.

The average annual wage for a Security Guard in 2016 was £22,303 compared to the average UK salary for all jobs which was £28,213.

Between 2011 and 2016 a Security Guards wage increased by 5%, however; when annual inflation is taken into account they are actually worse off by 2% or £495 per year.

During the period 2015 – 2016 the average pay for Security Guards rose by 2% or £368 per year.

Statistics show that only 12% of Security Guards and related occupations are women, however, on average they are paid 21% per hour more than men in similar roles.
