Creating Opportunities through Apprenticeships Programmes
CIS are taking part in the local 100 in 100 campaigns which are proving highly successful all across the country as companies look to promote Apprenticeships. The concept of a 100 in 100 campaign is simple; to generate 100 Apprenticeship placements in businesses within the local area within 100 days. The aim is for public and private business leaders, training providers, the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and the local newspaper and/or radio station to work in partnership to deliver a sustained campaign to influence the business community to drive up the number of Apprenticeship opportunities.
The 100 in 100 campaigns benefit the business community and young people; providing positive messages to the entire community and will benefit the local economy by:
• Giving school leavers their first step on to the jobs ladder • Supporting young people into education and a life-long career • Providing tools for businesses to grow their workforce and increase productivity
CIS are also supporting the local community by offering work placements for individuals currently undertaking Apprenticeship Programmes. The benefits of offering such work placements are that individuals can gain valuable work experience whilst pursuing their qualifications.
CIS has been working closely with SLB Logistics Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA) and have recently appointed two apprentices within the Accounts and HR Departments. Since joining CIS both apprentices have become valuable members of the team.
