A Moment In Time (1)

December 13, 2013

It was reported in The Times (Thursday, 12 December) that a lone burglar, covered from head to foot and wearing a balaclava, had stolen two Damien Hirst paintings worth more than £30,000 from the Exhibitionist Gallery in Notting Hill, West London.

The whole action took less than a minute in the early hours of Monday last and was clearly a pre-planned operation. Police are trawling through internal CCTV to try to establish whether the thief had previously staked out the targets. Notwithstanding that FM Contract Watch sees this as a case of systems failure and suggests that on this occasion the Exhibitionist Gallery had failed its “Moment in Time” test.
