Two new appointments for Security Minds Matter

Security Minds Matter, the industry initiative to improve mental health provision for frontline security professionals is delighted to announce two new appointments to its Steering Committee, Darcy Fletcher CMgr and Katie Pocock MSc.

Darcy is a HCPC registered paramedic with nearly five years post registration experience. Having recently finished her MSc in Disaster management and resilience she transferred into the security industry. Delivering training that has been OSPA nominated for training initiative of the year (2024), also currently acting as a wellbeing ambassador and fore fronting a health, safety and wellbeing strategy group, from this Darcy has since given SME seminars on Mental Health and Resilience. This is supported by her status a Chartered Manager with the CMI specialising in strategic management and leadership at level 7.

Katie is a full-time writer with a background in psychology, earning a BSc in Psychology with Neuroscience from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry from King’s College London. During her BSc she spent a year in the USA studying additional subjects such as journalism and creative writing at Northern Arizona University. Katie then gained experience as a licensed frontline security officer for 1 year, before pivoting back into psychology to train as a Clinical Associate Psychologist in the NHS. Recently, Katie has settled into her career in writing and is merging her previous experience to support mental health initiatives in the security industry.
