The ACS Pacesetters Achievement Awards 2015

The ACS Pacesetters Achievement Awards Lunch took place at Royal Windsor Racecourse yesterday, 20th May, and was attended by many of the members, their clients, end-users of security and most importantly the Security Officers nominated to receive an Award.

The Security Officers receiving the awards were nominated by the client to whom they are contracted and the final decision on the winners was made by the Sponsors of the event – Sutton Specialists Risks, The Security Watchdog, Eurotech Monitoring Services, Cobia UK, Trust ID and Professional Security Magazine.

Early next week, full details of each successful winner (together with a photograph of the presentation) will appear on the Security Officer of Distinction page of the website, but in the meantime the winners were:

The presentations were made by Mr Brian Sims, Editor of Risk UK Magazine, who also gave an excellent speech on the current developments in the security industry and his involvement as a journalist over the years.

Our chosen charity, for the second year running, was Hounds for Heroes and a total of £1765.00 was raised on day from the proceeds of a raffle. Finally, we heard from Allen Parton, founder of Hounds for Heroes, who once again gave a memorable talk of his life before taking on his first assistance dog, Endal, and how the partnership transformed him and gave him back his independence. It was a moving and, at times, humorous speech.
